About Mark Gatzen
Personal Bible Studies and Writing
About Mark Gatzen’s personal Bible-study writing hub, with links to deeper canonical studies and shorter introductions.
April 25, 2026This site is the personal writing hub of Mark Gatzen.
I am a Christian layperson from Haarlem, the Netherlands. I am not a theologian, pastor, scholar, or official representative of a church. Outside this project, my background is in IT and presales, not academic theology.
I currently serve in my local church community as a Discipleship Group leader and as a member of the servant-leaders council for CCF Netherlands. But the studies gathered here are personal writings. They do not represent CCF Netherlands, my local church, or any organization.
In my own words, I am a Bible nerd: someone who loves God, loves His Word, and has spent time trying to understand Scripture carefully.
The studies gathered here are personal Bible studies, published in the hope that they may be useful to others. They are not official church documents or academic publications. They are also not quick summaries. They assume some familiarity with the Bible and ask for patient reading.
My aim is to read Scripture according to its own categories and storyline: creation, covenant, exile, judgment, redemption, resurrection, and new creation. I try to pay attention to the Bible’s literary, historical, and canonical context, while keeping the studies accessible to readers who are willing to slow down, follow the argument, and test everything against Scripture itself.
The studies themselves are hosted on dedicated sites. Deeper canonical-theology articles are published at Canonical Theology. Shorter introductory articles are published at What Does the Bible Say About and, in Dutch, Wat zegt de Bijbel over.
This hub exists to gather those projects in one place and make them easier to navigate.
